the perfect place to live in harmony with a fabulous nature. A stay at the Baluchon
represents an authentic invitation to discover what Québec’s winter has best to
offer. You’ll be charmed by the beauty of the site: water falls, rugged landscapes,
rich forests and rolling hills. This outstanding setting is especially inviting when
covered with a deep mantle of snow. You’ll hence have the opportunity to
experience horseback riding as well as several winter activities. After the winter
sports, nothing compares to a soothing massage, a sauna and a gourmet dinner in
good company!

Day 1 – Montreal
Rendez-vous in the thrilling and appealing
city of Montreal! Second French
speaking city in the world after Paris,
Montreal combines old world influences
with North American modernity in a
very unique way. Let yourself be
charmed by the romantic streets of Old
Montreal and conquer its exhilarating
nights! You’ll then understand why the
city has been for long time known as
the “Northern New Orleans”!
Day 2 to 5 – Montreal /
Saint-Paulin
After a good night’s sleep and a hearty
breakfast, the moment has come to
leave the big city and to heat towards a
much more natural environment. Your
destination: the Baluchon, an amazing
resort located in the heart of the beautiful
Mauricie region. The rooms and the
amenities are spread out in several
buildings which are all easily reachable
one from another. The main buildings
are the front desk office, the dinning
room and 4 country inns featuring a
total of 90 well appointed rooms. In
each inn, you’ll find a water room
(sauna and Jacuzzi). Each room is
equipped with a television, free movie
rental, coffee machine and hair dryer.
The Baluchon resort is a true paradise
for the nature enthusiasts. This is also
the ideal place to practice a wide range
of typically Canadian winter sports.
You’ll hence have access to a huge
network of cross-country skiing trails (equipment included). You’ll also have
the opportunity to explore the surrounding
forests during some snowshoeing
or hiking excursions and to
skate (skates included) on the river (5
km of trails). You are rather looking
for big thrills? You’ll be delighted by
the tube sliding slope. To crown it all,
you’ll live the unique experience of a
Horse-drawn carriage tour
through the winter wonderland!
After a day filled with outdoor activities,
you’ll be glad to take advantage
of the warm comfort of your inn.
During all your stay, you’ll have unlimited
access to the magnificent indoor
swimming pool, to the saunas and the
Jacuzzis. You are also invited to visit
the famous spa for an unforgettable
massage. The ideal way to unwind
from your day-to-day stresses in a
soothing atmosphere of total relaxation.
Last but not least, our chef Patrick
Gérôme and his experienced team
are inviting you to share a truly remarkable
culinary experience, featuring
a choice of the irresistible table
d’hôte or the tasteful Better Living
menus. Le Baluchon offers guests
innovative cuisine featuring dishes
that, with their fresh herbs and decorative
flowers and vegetables, are in
all senses of the word, tasteful. Additionally,
salt-free foods and light
sauces accentuate Le Baluchon's
commitment to always being in step
with the latest trends in restaurant dining. What's more, our chef enjoys an
excellent relationship with regional food
producers. He has been working with
them since Le Baluchon's 1990 beginning
to create recipes that do full justice
to local produce. The goal has
always been to offer table d'hôte
menus that introduce guests to new
dishes and novel food arrangements.
In
addition to all the activities that are
included in your package, you’ll also
have the opportunity to select some
optional activities such as dog dledding,
or additionnal treatments at the spa. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included from day 2 to 5)
Day 6 – Saint-Paulin /
Quebec City
Your next stop is beautiful Quebec City.
Rich in culture, history and beauty,
Québec City has the appearance and
the atmosphere of an old-world town.
Indeed, its old section has kept its
historic character and a “Vieille France”
charm. Moreover, the surrounding
areas offer delightful landscapes. Yield
to temptation of an excursion toward
the spectacular Montmorency Falls and
the Île d’Orleans. (Breakfast included)
Day 7 – Quebec City or
Montreal
Additional time to visit Quebec City
before heading to the airport or to
return to Montreal for your return flight.
(Breakfast included) |
