Here is one unbeatable dog-sledding expedition in splendid pristine lands where
only mushers, trappers and foresters meet… One expedition for those thirsty for
adventure…

|
Day 1 - Montreal / Saint-Maurice Wildlife Reserve
Get ready for some action! For those
wishing to experience the raw energy
of nature, nothing compares to
a dog sledding adventure in the wild
territories of the Saint-Maurice Wildlife
Reserve. You’ll find here the very
essence of the Mauricie, a land of
pioneers, log drivers and voyagers!
This protected area stretches over
784 km2 and features 245 lakes and
several rivers. In winter you can
observe Moose, deer, beavers and
wolves. You will be carried by our
powerful hounds while catching a
glimpse of the ever changing landscapes as you glide across the winter
wonderland. Your musher (guide)
will teach you the art of harnessing
the huskies and you will have the
opportunity to ride your own sled. At
midday, you will also enjoy a tasteful
meal cooked over a campfire. An
itinerary featuring frozen lakes and
rivers will then lead you to your cozy
rustic cottage where you’ll spend the
night in the heart of the Canadian
forest, completely isolated from the
rest of the civilization! (Lunch and dinner included)
Day 2 - Saint-Maurice
Wildlife Reserve / Montreal
Continue on your dogsled journey
through this incredibly tranquil wilderness. Only the hissing of the sled
runners over the snow or the occasional
cry of a tenacious wildfowl will
interrupt the quietness of this vast,
dense forest. After a fireside lunch,
we will then return to the trail in order
to discover further peaceful realms,
those small, secluded spots whose
existence is known only by the woodsmen
and the mushers… It’s then time
to return to the kennel where you’ll
say goodbye to your dogs. Back at the
Adventure Center at the end of the
day, you’ll take advantage of a farewell
dinner. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included) |
