Visitors who’d like to live a most original adventure will be delighted by the new experiences that are offered at the Centre for Conservation of Boreal Biodiversity (CCBB) of the St-Felicien Wild Zoo. Here’s indeed an adventure package which stretch over two days . From the visit of the Borealium to the night passed among the caribous in the vicinity of a peat bog, the participants will have the opportunity, along with their experienced naturalist guide, to explore some very special environments...




Days 1 and 2 – St-Félicien
Meeting with you guide at 11h00. To start this extraordinary journey the right way, a visit at the fascinating Borealium is definitely a must! Inaugurated in June 2003, this building propose an interesting multi-sensorial experience that will take you to the heart of the different biomes that constitute the Boreal environment: the taiga, the tundra, the mountains, etc. The multi sensorial movie alone would worth a trip! After this exhilarating visit, you’ll be ready to live an unforgettable Boreal experience! Two wonderful days during which you’ll:
  • Have the opportunity to visit restricted areas such as the zoo’s “backstage”, the veterinary clinic, the polar bears night quarter, etc.
  • Enjoy a lunch at the Pioneer farm, an historical reconstitution that will allow you to discover the way of life of the 19th century’s local farmers.
  • Discover the Boreal fauna and flora with an experienced guide.
  • Track the caribous and the moose.
  • Sleep in prospector tent, on a bed made out of pine branches, in the midst of a caribous habitat.
  • Have a diner in the nature.
  • At sunset, leave by canoe on the great Montagnais Lake to observe the moose, the caribous, the musk ox, the black bears, etc.
  • Be introduced to the telemetry science and observe a female moose and her baby.
  • Enjoy a campfire evening during which a very special character will pay you a visit.
  • Make a fascinating night observation of the lake.
  • Enjoy a typically Quebecois breakfast.
