| Famous for its glorious water falls and the wild beauty of its pristine nature, the Wells gray Park is also one of the premier places in Canada to observe wildlife. There is an amazing concentration of black bears and the park is habitat to woodland caribou, wolf, cougar, moose, deer and eagle. The friendliness and hospitality, vital for survival in this remote area during pioneer days is maintained until today at the ranch. Here you will indeed enjoy the Western Style family atmosphere and find the Old West alive in our Black Horse Saloon. |
Days 1 to 3 - Clearwater
A stay in this fabulous setting would delight the most hard to please nature enthusiasts! Dependind on when you’ll visit us, you’ll be invited to participate in one of the following wildlife viewing activities:
1-In May, June and September: The Morning Sunrise (duration: 2h30). It starts at 5am. A great time for wildlife viewing in Wells Gray, particularly for black bears. You’ll then have access to the viewing platform while binoculars and spotting scope will be provided.
2-In July and August: The Wildlife Experience (duration: 12h00) Starting also at 5h am, a trip mainly on the west side of the Clearwater River which is known for good wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly bears feeding on spawning salmon!
