| In the heart of the magnificent Jacques-Cartier River Valley, on the wild plateau of the Laurentian Mountains, a dream awaits you. Less than 30 minutes from Quebec City, you will be welcomed by grouse, foxes, porcupines and our famous joie de vivre! You’ll then be in position to discover the origins, the culture and the history of the Native Peoples who once welcomed the first Europeans. On the program: Sacred fire, healing plants, traditional beliefs and crafts, stargazing, mountain hiking, canoe, etc. Then a fragrant bed of balsam fir will be laid down in a teepee or Montagnais tent for you to get a good night's rest. You’ll also savour the culinary traditions of the First Nations in the Huron long house. |
Day 1 – Tewkesbury
Upon you arrival, you’ll be greeted by your hosts and will take part to a guided visit of the site. After lunch, you’ll try traditional archery before leaving for a fascinating guided hike in the surrounding forest. Upon your return to the site, you’ll be greeted with a traditional Huron diner which will be followed by an animated night around a bonfire. You’ll then be delighted by the traditional Huron storytelling as well as by the display of Native dance. Night in a Huron long house, a tepee or in a Montagnais tent. (Lunch and Dinner included)
Day 2 – Tewkesbury
After breakfast, canoe excursion in the Wendake area. During your stay here, you’ll also have access to a Visitor Centre which features a museum, a gift shop, restrooms with showers, laundry, etc. (Breakfast included) |
