We prepare for you this wonderful itinerary that will take you from Ontario to Percé with comfort and style! It’s indeed by train that you’ll travel along the majestic St-Lawrence River. You’ll make a magical stop in the only remaining fortified city in North America before continuing to the extraordinary Gaspe Peninsula and its amazing marine and alpine sceneries! With this version of the package, you’ll have the opportunity to complete the visit of the Gaspé Peninsula with a rented car.




Upon arrival at the hotel on day one, you’ll find your personalized Globe-Trotter roadbook at the front desk. This very complete package of travelling literature includes: the relevant road maps, a copy of your detailed itinerary, some useful travelling tips, the vouchers, the relevant travelling guides, a 24h/7d toll free emergency number as well as a few surprises !

Days 1 and 2 - Toronto
Arrival in Canada’s financial metropolis. The « Queen » city has a lot to offer. Take advantage of a city tour before strolling freely along its seemingly endless streets, discovering its rich museums and participating to its many cultural and sport events.

Days 3 and 4 – Toronto / Ottawa (446 km by train)
Take the train to the very beautiful city of Ottawa, Canada’s capital. A city tour will then allows you to discover the city’s main attractions such as the Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal, the public market, etc.

From Toronto (day 3), here are a few optional short stays that you could easily add to your package. Please refer to their duration in order to determine the number of nights each of these trips will add to the original route.

Days 5 and 6 – Ottawa / Montreal (187 km by train)
Take the train to Montreal, second french speaking city in the world after Paris. A city tour will then allow you to discover the main attractions that has made Montreal famous: The Notre-Dame Basilica, the Olympic Tower, The Old-Montreal, The Saint-Joseph Oratory, etc. (Breakfast included on day 6)

Days 7 and 8 – Montreal / Quebec City (246 km by train)
Back on the train heading this time to beautiful Quebec City. A city tour will allow you to discover this World Heritage site city. Indeed, its old section has kept its historic character and an “Old France” charm! (Breakfast included on days 7 and 8)

Days 9 and 10 – Quebec City / Gaspé (800 km by train)
Some more free time to explore this beautiful city before a shuttle takes you to the train station. You then take the night train to the legendary Gaspe Peninsula. Once in Gaspé, you’ll pick up your rental car and you’ll have the opportunity make an unforgettable visit towards the famous Forillon National Park. (Breakfast included on day 9)

Days 11 and 12 – Gaspé / Ste-Anne-des-Monts (208 km)
Continue on in the heart of the fabulous Gaspésie National Park. Renowned for its hospitality, its fine cuisine and its unique mountainous setting, the Gîte du Mont-Albert is a dream destination to totally forget about the modern life turpitude. Take advantage of the soft comfort of the inn to admire the incredible view it offers of the Mont-Albert or go off in a spirit of discovery in the spectacular surroundings where you can even observe herds of Caribous!

Day 13 – Ste-Anne-des-Monts / Matane (127 Km)
A wonderful scenic drive along the Gaspesie rocky coast will lead you to Matane.

Day 14 – Matane / Bonaventure (272 Km)
Heading towards the Baie-des-Chaleurs area, you’ll then drive across the spectacular Matapedia Valley. Don’t miss the Ristigouche Battle Historical Site in Pointe-à-la-Croix, and Miguasha Park whose fossiliferous cliff is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

From Matane (day 14), here are a few optional short stays that you could easily add to your package. Please refer to their duration in order to determine the number of nights each of these trips will add to the original route.

Continue on towards Percé, a charming town located near the legendary Rock. It’s also an excellent starting point for an excursion in the birdwatchers paradise that is the Bonaventure Island. Take also advantage of Percé’s rich cultural life.

Days 17 and 18 – Percé / Gaspé / Montreal (1047 km by train)
Departure for Gaspé to bring back the car and night train to Montreal. (Breakfast included on days 17 and 18)

Day 19 – Montreal
Some free time to visit the city before your return flight. (Breakfast included)
