Here’s a unique way to explore eastern Canada: By train it is! From Toronto, while passing by Ottawa, Quebec City and Montreal, you’ll travel with comfort and style heading towards Atlantic Canada. Should you want, once in Halifax, to continue your trip, we strongly suggest that you add a self-drive tour in order to discover Nova Scotia’s and Cape Breton Island’s marvels. The package featured on next page would then be perfect for you!




Upon arrival at the hotel on day one, you’ll find your personalized Globe-Trotter roadbook at the front desk. This very complete package of travelling literature includes: the relevant road maps, a copy of your detailed itinerary, some useful travelling tips, the vouchers, the relevant travelling guides, a 24h/7d toll free emergency number as well as a few surprises !

Days 1 and 2 – Toronto
Arrival in Canada’s financial metropolis. The « Queen » city has a lot to offer. Take advantage of a city tour before strolling freely along its seemingly endless streets, discovering its rich museums and participating to its many cultural and sport events.

Days 3 and 4 – Toronto / Ottawa (446 km by train)
Take the train to the very beautiful city of Ottawa and discover the city’s main attractions such as the Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal, the public market, etc.

From Toronto (day 3), here are a few optional short stays that you could easily add to your package. Please refer to their duration in order to determine the number of nights each of these trips will add to the original route.

Days 5 and 6 – Ottawa / Montreal (187 km by train)
Rendez-vous in the thrilling and appealing city of Montreal. Second French speaking city in the world after Paris, Montreal combines old world influences with North American modernity in a very unique way. Let yourself be charmed by the romantic streets of Old Montreal and conquer its exhilarating nights!

Days 7 and 8 – Montreal / Quebec City (272 km by train)
Your destination: beautiful Quebec City. Rich in culture, history and beauty, Quebec City has the appearance and the atmosphere of an old-world town. Indeed, its old section has kept its historic character and a “Vieille France” charm. Moreover, the surrounding areas offer delightful landscapes.

Day 9 – Quebec City / Halifax (1099 km in train)
It’s in comfort and style that the train will take you quietly from Quebec City to Atlantic Canada. You’ll then have the opportunity to witness a wide variety of landscapes and seascapes!

Arrival in Halifax, where you’ll enjoy the numerous attractions of one of North America’s most unique and captivating harbour and university city! Halifax offers you the relaxed and joyful atmosphere of its many pubs and of its animated streets featuring magnificent Georgian houses.
