| You consider a cruise for your next holidays, but you are not quite ready to abandon the flexibility that allows the self drive formula? Here is a clever way to combine the best of both worlds. You’ll indeed have the opportunity to board the C.T.M.A Vacancier with your rented car! You’ll then sail down the majestic St-Lawrence River. Your destination: the Magdalen Islands, in the Gulf of the St-Lawrence. You’ll then sail back to the Gaspé Peninsula from where you’ll drive back to Montreal while exploring the marvels of the Quebec Maritime! |

Upon arrival at the hotel on day one, you’ll find your personalized Globe-Trotter roadbook at the front desk. This very complete package of travelling literature includes: the relevant road maps, a copy of your detailed itinerary, some useful travelling tips, the vouchers, the relevant travelling guides, a 24h/7d toll free emergency number as well as a few surprises !
Day 1 – Montreal
rendez-vous in the thrilling and appealing city of Montreal. Second French speaking city in the world after Paris, Montreal combines old world influences with North American modernity in a very unique way. Let yourself be charmed by the romantics streets of Old Montreal and conquer its exhilarating nights!
Day 2 – Boarding and sail down towards Quebec City
The ship leaves at around 3:00 PM. As it sails past the Old Port of Montreal, you can admire the beautiful skyline with the Mont-Royal in the background. A few hours later, we pass by the City of Sorel and the wonderful Bertier-Sorel Archipelago. At around 11:00 PM, Quebec City comes into view, with the magnificent Chateau Frontenac dominating the skyline. (Breakfast and Dinner included)
Day 3 - Continuation of the cruise towards the Gaspé Peninsula
After sailing near Tadoussac at the mouth of the Saguenay River, the ship crosses over to the south shore and sails close to land. Keep your eyes open because sea mammals are a common sight in this area! In the afternoon, we will sail past the towns of Rimouski and Matane. Afterwards, the shore starts to get quite rugged as we sail past Ste-Anne-des-Monts, the Chics-Chocs Mountains and the town of La Martre. We then sail past the lighthouse at Pointe-à-la-Renommée, and the fishing port of Rivière-au-Renard, then around Forillon Park and the Bay of Gaspé. After navigating between Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island, the ship gets into Chandler at around 11:00 PM. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included)
Days 4 and 5 – Arrival on the Magdalen Islands
The ship gets into Cap-aux-Meules at around 10:00 in the morning. You’ll then have three days to discover the treasures of the archipelago by car. (Brakfast included on day 4)
Day 6 – Boarding and sail
back to the Gaspé Peninsula Boarding the CTMA Vacancier: 7:00 pm. The ship leaves les Îles at around 10:00 PM and gets into Chandler at around 6:00 the following morning.
Day 7 - Chandler / Percé / (45 Km)
Back in your car, you’ll then drive to Percé, a charming town located near the legendary Rock. It’s also an excellent starting point for an excursion in the birdwatchers paradise that is the Bonaventure Island. Take also advantage of Percé’s rich cultural life. (Breakfast included)
Day 8 - Percé / Gaspé (61 Km)
Continue on towards the Bay of Gaspé from where you’ll be in position to explore the famous Forillon National Park.
Days 9 and 10 – Gaspé / Ste-Anne-des-Monts (208 Km)
A wonderful scenic drive along the Gaspesie rocky coast will lead you to Sainte-Anne-des-Monts after what you’ll drive into the fabulous wild territories of the Gaspésie’s back country. You’ll then stay in a world class mountain inn! Renowned for its hospitality, its fine cuisine concocted with local products and its unique mountainous setting in Eastern Canada, the Gîte du Mont-Albert is a dream destination to totally forget about the modern life turpitude. Would you succumb for a hike in a mountainous area where you might observe herds of caribous? Back at the inn, the swimming pool, the sauna and the terrace are waiting for you.
Day 11 – Ste-Anne-des-Monts / Rivière-du-Loup (314 km)
On your way to Rivière-du-Loup, you will have the opportunity to make a visit to the Bic National Park which proudly showcases its capes, bays, coves, islands, and mountains.

Days 12 and 13 – Rivière-du-Loup / Quebec City (188 km)
Your destination: beautiful Quebec City. Rich in culture, history and beauty, Quebec City has the appearance and the atmosphere of an old-world town. Indeed, its old section has kept its historic character and a “Vieille France” charm. Moreover, the surrounding areas offer delightful landscapes. Yield to temptation of an excursion toward the spectacular Montmorency Falls and the Île d’Orleans.
Days 14 and 15 – Quebec City / Montreal (260 km)
Some more time to visit Montreal before leaving your car at the airport. (Breakfast included on day 15)
