Upon arrival at the hotel on day one, you’ll find your personalized Globe-Trotter roadbook at the front desk. This very complete package of travelling literature includes: the relevant road maps, a copy of your detailed itinerary, some useful travelling tips, the vouchers, the relevant travelling guides, a 24h/7d toll free emergency number as well as a few surprises !
Day 1 - Vancouver
Pick-up your vehicle and drive to your hotel in Vancouver.
Days 2 and 3 - Vancouver / Victoria (65 km+ferry)
Today you take the ferry to Victoria, the charming capital of British Columbia. You will have the chance to experience a whale watch cruise. Nothing is better than a zodiac to see the whales from very close. Put on your Mustang survival suit and set off for an unforgettable encounter with the biggest sea mammals!
Days 4 and 5 - Victoria / Tofino (317 km)
Tofino is an excellent starting point to explore legendary Pacific Rim National Park. On the program: long beaches, the fascinating rain forests and the local wildlife. During your stay in Tofino you will do a great tour aboard a zodiac in search of elusive black bears as they roam the beaches at low tides, rolling huge boulders aside in search of the shore crab. (Breakfast included on day 5)
Day 6 - Tofino / Parksville (172 km)
On your way to Parksville, you should stop at Cathedral Cove where you can see 800-year-old and 5-metre-thick Douglas Firs! (Breakfast included)

We’d like to let you know that two fantastic packages could easily be added to this itinerary. We indeed feel like it would be relevant to stay at the famous Great Bear Lodge which is one of the best places in the world to observe grizzly bears and other wildlife while staying in a fabulous floating lodge where your hosts will prepare wilderness gourmet meals using the best local seafood. The other option would be to continue on towards the amazing rain forest that lies north of Campbell River. You’d then stay at the Knight Inlet Lodge, a picturesque assortment of floating houses which are the ideal starting point for adventures in the wild. |
Days 7 and 8 - Parksville / Campbell River (122 km)
Continue on towards Campbell River, the world’s Salmon Fishing “Capital”. You will stay at the April Point Resort & Spa, situated on beautiful Quadra Island. On day 8, you will hence take part in an outstanding zodiac tour in the vicinity of the lodge. Your naturalist guide will show you the best spots to observe the black bears (which also like to catch salmon on the shores!), the sea lions, the seals and even the whales and the dolphins!
Day 9 - Campbell River / Nanaimo (157 km)
After all this travelling in remotely located areas, you now return momentarily to civilization.
Day 10 – Nanaimo / Whistler (105 km+ferry)
Back on the mainland, continue on towards Whistler, the famous winter sport station which will host the Olympic ski competitions in 2010. (Breakfast included)
Day 11 - Whistler / Vancouver (125 km)
Continue on towards thrilling Vancouver! Its outstanding location between mountains and ocean definitely makes this city one of the most beautiful in the world. Discover its main attractions and let yourself be immersed by its relaxed west-coast atmosphere. We particularly suggest the visit of the aquarium, of the anthropology museum, of Stanley Park, of Chinatown and of Gastown historical district.
Day 12 – Vancouver
Drop-off your vehicle.
