Here’s an itinerary suitable for those who want to discover the three regions which form eastern Canada: Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. A very complete program that will lead you from Toronto to Cape Breton Island while passing by such highlights as Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Tadoussac, the Gaspe Peninsula, New Brunswick, and Halifax!




Upon arrival at the hotel on day one, you’ll find your personalized Globe-Trotter roadbook at the front desk. This very complete package of travelling literature includes: the relevant road maps, a copy of your detailed itinerary, some useful travelling tips, the vouchers, the relevant travelling guides, a 24h/7d toll free emergency number as well as a few surprises !

Day 1 – Toronto
Pick up your vehicle. You’ll be charmed by Canada’s financial metropolis. The “Queen city” has a lot to offer. Stroll along its seemingly never ending streets, admire the famous CN Tower, discover amazing museums and take part to some of its many cultural and sporting events.

Day 2 – Toronto / Niagara Falls / Toronto (260 km)
The largest waterfalls in the world are yours to discover!

Day 3 – Toronto / Ottawa (460 km)
The drive leads you to Ottawa, the capital of Canada. On your way, don’t miss Kingston, the gate to the Thousand Islands.

Days 4 and 5 – Ottawa /Montreal (200 km)
Rendez-vous in the thrilling and appealing city of Montreal! Second French speaking city in the world after Paris, Montreal combines old world influences with North American modernity in a very unique way. Let yourself be charmed by the romantic streets of Old Montreal and conquer its exhilarating nights! You’ll then understand why the city has been for long time known as the “Northern New Orleans”! (Breakfast included on day 5)

Days 6 and 7 – Montreal / Quebec City (260 km)
Your destination: beautiful Quebec City. Rich in culture, history and beauty, Quebec City has the appearance and the atmosphere of an old-world town. Indeed, its old section has kept its historic character and a “Vieille France” charm. Moreover, the surrounding areas offer delightful landscapes. Yield to temptation of an excursion toward the spectacular Montmorency Falls and the Île d’Orleans. (Breakfast included on days 6 and 7)

Day 8 – Quebec City/ Tadoussac (213 km)
On your way to Tadoussac, one of the best best place in the world to observe the whales, you’ll drive along Charlevoix's rocky coastline where mountains spectacularly plunged into t he salted waters of the St-Lawrence River. (Breakfast included)

Day 9 – Tadoussac / Matane (200 km+ferry)
The ferry will take you to the Gaspé Peninsula.

Day 10 – Matane / Percé (393 km)
A wonderful scenic drive along the Gaspesie rocky coast will lead you to Percé, a charming town located near the legendary rock. It’s also an excellent starting point for an excursion in the birdwatchers paradise that is the Bonaventure Island.

Day 11 – Percé /Bonaventure (163 km)
Continue on towards the Baie des Chaleurs.

Day 12 – Bonaventure / Miramichi (244 km)
Rendez-vous in Miramichi, a charming town located on the shores of a salmon river.

Day 13 – Miramichi / Moncton (142 km)
The drive now leads you along the scenic Acadian Coast. We highly recommend a visit of the Acadian Historical Village. (Breakfast included)

Day 14 – Moncton / West Bay (252 km)

The drive now leads you to Nova Scotia after what you’ll continue on towards the Cape Breton Island. (Breakfast included)

15 – West Bay / Ingonish (137 km)
Discover the picturesque Ingonish area and admire fabulous seascapes while driving along the famous Cabot Trail. Overlooking a steep cliff, the Keltic Lodge offers a breathtaking view of the surroundings. The ideal place to explore the marvels of the Middle Head Trail.

Day 16 – Ingonish / Sydney (142 km)

Before leaving Cape Breton Island, we suggest strongly that you visit the exceptional Louisbourg fortress. The “New World Gibraltar” will literally take you back to the New France era!

17 – Sydney / Liscomb Mills (253 km)
Today you will drive the scenic east coast Marine Road towards the famous Liscombe Lodge. Nestled on the shore of a magnificent river and surrounded by the evergreens, this is a true paradise for the nature enthusiasts. (Breakfast included)

Day 18 – Liscomb Mills / Halifax (176 km)

Visit the pleasant harbour city of Halifax. (Breakfast included)

TIP: Please note that these prices include a pick up directly at the airport. Considering how expensive taxi transfer can be and the fact that you'll only have to park your vehicle in downtown (city centre) the first night, we truly belive that it's the easiest way to proceed. If for whatever reason you would like to proceed otherwise by rather piking-up the car in a downtown location on day 2, we'd be more than happy to quote it for you.
